I'm Domestic.

...Well, not really.

But I did want to learn how to cross stitch. I started my first ever cross-stitching project on Sunday and finished it on Tuesday. Here it is:

I'm rather proud of myself, though I hate lazy-daisies (the type of stitch that's the yellow in the flowers). They're dumb and stupid. I kept pulling them through to the other side. But eventually I sort of got the hang of it. Anyway, now for the back:

It started out a lot neater before adding the lazy daisies and backstitching (the black outlines). I read online that a lot of people hate backstitching; I didn't think the stitching itself was so hard, it just took forever because you had to look back and forth between the pattern and your project between like EVERY stitch. THAT got old.

Oh well. Happy Late St. Patty's everyone! And also, Happy Birthday to Stacey Bond. Her blog has a link in the lower portion of the right bar on this page, just in case you aren't reading it already. Do it!! Do it!! You know you want to...

Hello :)

Last night I started the new semester with my "Math for Liberal Arts" class. It wasn't so bad, but boy is it long. Three hours for a math class is too long! But at least it's only once a week.

I was recently called to teach the six year olds at primary, and this last sunday was my first lesson. The kids are good, but the hardest part is making them just face front and look at you!!

We are excited to get tax returns!! Our plan is to buy a new desktop computer, printer, and wireless router. I'm stoked :D I want to get our taxes done ASAP; Brandon just got his last W-2 so we're pretty much good to go now.

...I'm blogging about taxes. That means it's time to sign out.

An Update in the Life of Your Beloved

How's married life? It's wonderful. Quit asking me. :)

Brandon and I like the new ward that we're in. Right now we're preparing to gives talks on Sunday. Well, that's a lie, because neither of us has started yet.

So far I am getting pretty good at:
-washing dishes as they get dirty
-regularly picking up the living room/avoiding clutter
-regularly cleaning off the bathroom counter
-keeping the kitchen table clear
-sending back my Netflix when I'm done with them (this is something I have struggled with)

Things I am not so good at:
-folding & putting away laundry
-cooking a real dinner when there are things like chicken strips/bagel bites available
-putting my shoes back on the shoe rack
-emptying/taking out the trash (though I did that one today!!)

Folding laundry is the worst. The WORST. I was never good at it. I hate it.

Brandon is back in school. He's taking an intro to engineering class and a programming class; he's learning how to write programs using C. He even taught me how to make an extremely basic one the other day. It was pretty slick.

Yesterday I stole Maggie from my parents and we went hiking. I've decided I'm going to do more hiking. I'd like to go at least once a week, and get comfortable with it again. Brandon and I talk about going backpacking and doing outdoorsy stuff but I need to get back in the swing of things if that's going to happen.

Anyway, that's pretty much the update. Not much happens anymore once you're old and married and boring.

It's Been Too Long

The title of this one makes me want to say "Dahhhling!" which makes me want to watch The Incredibles because I love Edna.

I realized it's been over a month since my last post, which hasn't happened in the history of this blog until just now. But it's going to be short because these fake nails are killing me. Typing with them is so annoying!

So yay! Brandon and I got sealed in the Oakland Temple on November 27, which means I am officially unavailable now. Sorry to disappoint :) We spent that weekend in San Francisco and now are enjoying married life in a one bedroom apartment close to where I work (yay!). So far the most frustrating day was yesterday when I went to social security to officially change my name. I was running around for five hours trying to get it done.

I attempted to make cookie dough last night, which turned out disastrous, but hopefully I'll get better in time. Besides, I can't be worse them Sam, can I? :) The other night I made chicken, too, which also kind of sucked. I think I should just stick to pasta. Boiling water seems to be my forte.

Anywho, my husband just made me a quesadilla because he's amazing and we're about to watch a movie and I keep writing typos because of these stupid nails so I'm done now! I'll post wedding pictures, but they're available at desiredshotsphotography.smugmug.com
